As the brand and marketing designer for Afriex, I created this series of illustrations. Afriex is committed to facilitating seamless money transfers and financial services for users across borders, with a particular emphasis on the needs of Africans in the diaspora. My task entailed a thorough process of conceptualising and developing visually appealing illustrations that were consistent with Afriex's brand identity and communication strategy.
In this project, I collaborated closely with my marketing team members to ensure that each illustration properly complemented our messaging while also communicating it clearly and attractively. From concept brainstorming to final execution, I aimed to develop visually appealing and functionally powerful visuals that communicated Afriex's main messaging and offerings.
This body of work demonstrates the illustration’s versatility and adaptability, reflecting their use across numerous mediums and platforms to increase Afriex's brand recognition and engagement.
Design Approach
My creative approach is based on the principles outlined in Afriex's visual identity, which ensures brand consistency and that each illustration resonates with the audience. My goal was to create simple, clear designs that are easy to understand and enjoy at a glance. To reduce visual clutter, simple shapes with minimalistic and consistent details were used.
Each illustration was created to convey the appropriate message. Whether demonstrating an aspect of Afriex's service or making an announcement, the illustrations were designed to be informative and simple to understand. A few illustrations were taken from other paid sources and altered to fit the brand's visual style.
It was important to keep a consistent style and feel throughout all illustrations. I ensured the colours, typography, and overall style were consistent with Afriex's established brand system. This consistency serves to strengthen brand recognition, build trust with our audience, and establish a familiar connection.
